The Infamous Mark Bosnich Plans To Make Comeback

Former Socceroo goalkeeper Mark Bosnich has announced his plans to attempt a professional comeback.

Bosnich previously played for Aston Villa, Chelsea and Manchester United, but left the game altogether for about a 5 year period. However, he has most recently been training with the English Championship side Queens Park Rangers F.C. under former Chelsea #1 Ed De Goey.

Bosnich had quickly earned a reputation as being a top-level goalkeeper, but also an ego-maniac and disruptive presence. One of his most famously distasteful displays was his decision to show a Nazi salute to Spurs fans at White Hart Lane. The memory of Bosnich that many were left with was a truly disgusted one.

In a recent interview with Total Football (below), though, Bosnich revealed a much humbler side than many have ever seen. He revealed little about his 4 year absence from the game, but that he wished to get back into goalkeeping for the love of the game. The more humble side was present in his apologies to the Australian A-League for not keeping up with it's growth, and several references to friends and family, coupled with a calm and hopeful attitude. It honestly seemed that the former Mark Bosnich was nowhere to be found.

Is the Mark Bosnich we see in the interview a new man, or a cover for the notorious ego hiding inside? It seems as though only time will tell. Regardless, this should be a very interesting story to follow, as Bosnich is currently 35 years old, and despite training with QPR, currently without a club.
